You’re either going to love “Pulsar: Lost Colony” or hate it, and that depends on whom you play with. Friends who can work together will flourish, while those who bicker or can’t follow instructions will perish.
“Pulsar” mainly takes place on a spaceship (with bases and planets to visit) and consists of a crew of five. Each person needs to be in one of the game’s five roles: pilot, captain, weapons specialist, engineer and scientist. Each role has specific tasks that will help the ship’s voyage to find the Lost Colony — although the Lost Colony content isn’t in the game yet.
“Pulsar” has been in development by a small team for nearly five years, but it has more than enough content for a few dozen hours of gameplay, and updates are pretty regular. However, the player base is small, so you’ll want to bring some buddies.
“Pulsar” takes its inspiration from the “Star Trek” franchise, so anyone familiar with the iconic TV show will feel right at home. Find new locations, beam aboard derelict vessels, bring home new stuff, sell it, upgrade your ship (currently 12 types of ships are available), and explore the stars with your friends.
And then possibly lose them in real life when fights break out.
